1020 Alaska Adventure/Tour - Part 1

First off, let me make it clear. I'm not a writer, blogger, journalist, etc. I'm actually just like most of you. I work a full-time career to take care of a family of 5 and to push a positive adventure community like 10-20 which is my other family of now 14k on Instagram. But let's make this clear, I just recently learned about "working to live" instead of "living to work". Sometimes learning the hard way is the only way, but not in this case, sorry! I wish I took the advice the first time I heard it. But I had a...

Use What Works

It's easy to get distracted by all the new gear, but at the end of the day you just need to use what works. In this case, an old Coleman stove, pots passed down from a father, and a $2500 Montero. #overland Posted by Overland Journal on Monday, August 31, 2015

10-20 Human Powered Lifestyle Reps Steffi & Rob a.k.a. "Team Hot Pocket" competed in the Sunday Sunday Sunday Paddle Race Series in Mission Bay - Bonita Cove on June 7th. I was fortunate to witness and take some video of them at this event but more importantly I was there to support them and cheer them on as a friend.  As 10-20 Outfitters continues to grow organically, we continue to live our life with S.I.M. (Support, Inspire, Motivation).  Check out the YouTube video.

10-20 Meets "Team Hot Pocket" on Sano Sunday

The technology life of meeting people on the internet is great, but call me old school I still like to meet people in person to shake their hand, look them in the eye and hear the passion behind the voice. There is just something pure about interacting with people in person that you don't get out of a text message, email, Snap Chat or whatever other program is out there. I thought it would be a good opportunity to let others know who I am without any misconceptions as we would be "face to face" not "screen to face".  This is why 10-20 Human Powered...

Avoiding the Adventure Blues

What's your 20?™  Sometimes you make adventure plans that don't always work out. For most people this causes unnecessary anxiety that can ruin your whole day. At 10-20, we beat the adventures blues by remaining flexible with any situation. We often run into days that don't allow us stand up paddle board due to mother nature being a little rough on the water but that alone won't stop us from adventuring. What we do is simply change our plans by keep it on the ground and off the grid by finding a local trail to hike, bike or camp in. Simple right? It's easier said than done....

What's your 20?™ • Sometimes you stumble upon fresh ideas by accident. Check out the recent screen work by @guardianofbravery. It's a light olive green 10-20 shirt with the sporty script "Ten Twenty". Now check out some of the new 10-20 hats being worked on by @digisphere too. Cool people doing cool things.

What's your 20?™ • Sometimes you just have to jump into adventure to discover adventure. 10-20 Tip: Don't over plan something that is suppose to be simple. For example: If your going for a local day hike, you don't need to pack and plan as if you are about to hike the John Muir Trail for 21 days. Just remember the important things such as water, check the weather conditions, dress in layers, snack and more water. Oh yeah, challenge your friends the 10-20 way. Wear a 10-20 shirt, take a picture where your at, #whatsyour20 and then post on Social...
